In my search for good vintage pieces, I usually look for the top of the line designer couture dresses and I own quite a few. But a dress is a dress, is a dress you may say but it really is not! A dress is a womens statement of her style, her inner being. Take for example Sophia Loren she feels a dress should be a womens fence for her body here is her favorite quote :
“A woman's dress should be like a barbed-wire fence: serving its purpose without obstructing the view.”
She always wore some beautiful simple dresses! I think when looking for a vintage dress most of us have the style we are wanting before we walk in the door of that Boutique or thrift store. I personally I am the hunt for the label on the dress and I also look for the condition of the dress. I fell into a pile of vinatge French dresses from an estate sale here in Phoenix and these dresses are Haute Couture and one of a kind. Here is some of these beautiful one of a kind pieces.

In the dress the label does say it all. It make us feel like the goddess we were born to be. I am a vintage goddess, I think I was born in the 1950 or the 1960....oh that is right I was... oh well. Even if I wasn't I think this would be my style. I am trying to make my way into the Vintage market with my eBay store and my esty store. I have sold quite a few vintage items and I will have my own store on line which will be completed January 25, 2010 you must check it out! www.desertrosevintageaz.com it will have so much vintage! Now getting back to these dresses.
Another piece by this great designer. This dress has a very unusual print that reminds me of pine trees I guess its what a person see in a beautiful piece of art like this dress. I am reminded that with this designer there is only one of a kind pieces, so when you buy this is the only one like it. the Dress is made from polyester silk and a taffeta lining. It buttons up the front of the dress but zips down the side like the classic 1960 dresses. It has a belt. the sleeves are long and snaps with small snaps for closure. The dress is in excellent condition.
